Viet Nam to host 28 nations at parliamentary meeting (06-01-2005) HA NOI — Delegations representing the governments of Asia-Pacific countries will arrive in Viet Nam to attend the 13th Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum, to be held in the northern province of Quang Ninh from January 9-12. Twenty-eight delegations are expected to participate in the forum, including 10 led by parliamentary chairmen. On this occasion, three delegations of Russian, Chinese and Italian parliamentarians will pay official visits to Viet Nam. The Russian delegation will be led by the Federal Assembly (Russian Parliament’s Upper Chamber) Chairman Sergey Mikhailovic Mironov, and the Chinese delegation will be led by Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, Gu Xiulian. The Italian delegation will be led by Chamber of Deputies (Lower House) Speaker, Pier Fernando Casini. National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Van An yesterday reviewed preparations for the forum and he praised relevant offices and Quang Ninh Province for implementing the agenda in a timely manner. — VNS
