Wheeling Law Firm Donates To Support Lung Cancer Screening

MORGANTOWN — Hartley Law Group, PLLC, of Wheeling and Charleston, has donated $500,000 to the West Virginia University Cancer Institute in support of a mobile lung cancer screening unit, LUCAS. The gift will support the WVU Cancer Institute in repurposing and refurbishing a mobile unit into a lung cancer screening mobile unit, which was previously used for the Bonnie’s Bus program. “The Hartley Law Group is proud to support the Cancer Institute in its initiative to combat one of the leading causes of death in West Virginia,” said Dean Hartley, WVU alumnus and founding partner at Hartley Law Group. “We are excited to support this mobile unit with the hope it will provide access to those who need it, and assist in early detection and prevention of lung cancer.” In 2017, more than 1,000 West Virginians died from lung cancer.
