A horn-wearing Donald Trump supporter whose photo during the US Capitol riots went viral has been arrested and charged. Jacob Anthony Chansley, who calls himself Jake Angeli, is charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. The self-styled QAnon "shaman" from Arizona was taken into custody today. Amanda Gorman , who was the US's first National Youth Poet Laureate and was widely praised for her performance in January, says she was regarded as a "threat" because she is black. No overseas spectators for Tokyo Olympics?

Her comments were echoed by the head of the organising committee for the Games, Seiko Hashimoto, who said she would like to reach the decision by March 25. Polls show most Japanese oppose holding the Games during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mainichi newspaper earlier reported that the government was planning to ban overseas spectators due to worries they would spread the coronavirus, citing multiple unnamed sources. US Capitol Complex lockdown: Police stand down security alert after ‘threat’ warning
The US Capitol Complex was put into lockdown with no entry or exit, due to an "external security threat". Capitol Police had issued a warning to people in all buildings within the complex to "stay away from exterior windows and doors" and for those outside to "seek cover". But shortly afterwards they confirmed there was "no threat to the public". The Secret Service said firefighters had responded to a "small fire" near the area and that "out of an abundance of caution" the complex was temporarily shutdown. The Capitol Complex on the National Mall in Washington DC, is a group of 20 buildings and offices surrounding the Capitol building itself, that are used by elected officials, the federal government and its departments.
