TBGKS office-bearer booked for harassing woman
The TRS-affiliated Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) Yellandu area vice-president Gaddam Venkateshwarlu was booked on the charges of harassing a woman over phone in Yellandu town. Sources said the aggrieved woman, who is wife of an employee of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the local police against Venkateshwarlu charging the latter with harassing her by making repeated phone calls. She submitted a phone conversation recording to the police to substantiate her charges, sources added. Asylum seekers booked into hotel with pool, gym, spa and sauna by Government contractor
Security firm Serco has booked asylum seekers into hotels after winning a £175million Government contract to provide accommodation in the North West. A group of about 30 asylum seekers, mainly from Sudan and Syria, have full board accommodation at the three-star Britannia Hotel in Stockport, Gtr Manchester, with access to the pool, spa, gym, sauna, and bistro. A six-month stay for 30 would cost around £200,000. Serco signed a deal in 2012 to provide accommodation for asylum seekers in Manchester and the North West over five years. Jenni Halliday, of Serco, said: “The use of hotels does not cost taxpayers anything extra. Our priority is to make sure that they are safe.” Another 20 asylum seekers have been staying in a Travelodge in Sidcup, Kent, paid for by the Home Office. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) used his entire time on the second day of the Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Judge Amy Coney Barrett on Tuesday to present a “dark money” conspiracy theory. He asked Judge Barrett no actual questions. Using a series of posters, a magic marker, a highlighter, and an indeterminate number of Post-it notes, Whitehouse sketched a complicated theory — called “The Scheme” — in which he claimed that “dark money” groups influenced the selection of judges.
