Hot off the release of Monster Hunter , frequent collaborators and real-life married couple Paul W. S. Anderson and Milla Jovovich have found their next project. Before Monster Hunter , Anderson had directed Jovovich in six high-grossing Resident Evil movies based on the video game series. For their next movie, the pair will team up with Dave Bautista ( Guardians of the Galaxy ) to adapt the fantasy adventure In the Lost Lands based on the short story by Game of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin. Per Deadline, In the Lost Lands will "follow a queen, desperate to obtain the gift of shape shifting, who makes a daring play: she hires the sorceress Gray Alys (Jovovich), a woman as feared as she is powerful. The London Mining Network, an alliance of human rights, development and environmental activists, work in collaboration with mine workers and Indigenous communities affected by extractivist industries. Their new report Voices from the Ground: How the Global Mining Industry is Profiting from the COVID-19 Pandemic sets out what they say are worrying trends of mining corporations amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which represents "an immediate threat to the health and safety of communities" around the world. Sputnik: Who are some of the main global mining conglomerates, especially those with links to the UK? ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Passes ‘Titanic’ To Become #2 Film Ever Worldwide With $2.189B – International Box Office

2ND SUNDAY UPDATE, writethru after 8:14AM post : With an estimated $2,188.7M global through Sunday, Disney / Marvel ’s Avengers: Endgame has sailed past Titanic to become the No. 2 movie ever worldwide. The same goes for overseas where Endgame is also now No. 2 with a running cume of $1.569B . That’s after grossing a further $282.2M at the international box office in the sophomore session. Both globally and offshore, Endgame is still led by only Avatar . We earlier noted that Endgame was on its way to passing $2B global through Saturday, becoming only the fifth movie ever to hit that lofty benchmark (and Disney’s third). The 22nd MCU pic is now the fastest ever to the milestone — in just 11 days. Avatar , the previous record holder, did it in 47. With the Sunday estimates, there is now about $459M separating Endgame from Avatar overseas and roughly $600M worldwide. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Mows Down ‘Long Shot’, ‘Intruder’ & ‘UglyDolls’ With $145M+ Second Weekend, Crosses $600M In Record Time

5th Update/writethru Sunday AM: Following Saturday and Friday posts, refresh for Sunday chart and more analysis. Why did three studios book new titles against Disney/Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame ‘s second weekend? They truly believed they were counter-programming the monster hit and could somehow survive: Lionsgate’s Long Shot with females, The Intruder with African Americans, and STXfilms’ foray into feature animation UglyDolls aimed at young girls. They knew what they were doing and blaming Endgame –which Disney is calling at $145.8M, the second-best second weekend ever after Star Wars: Force Awakens’ $149.2M)–is like saying the dog ate their homework. One B.O. analytics source even cynically opines to us, “It’s quite conceivable that even without Endgame , none of these films would have performed.” Endgame can celebrate that it’s crossing $600M in a record 10 days today with $619.7M, faster than Force Awakens (12 days), Infinity War (26 days) and … [Read more...] about ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Mows Down ‘Long Shot’, ‘Intruder’ & ‘UglyDolls’ With $145M+ Second Weekend, Crosses $600M In Record Time

FINAL UPDATE, Monday PM: All numbers are in, and Disney / Marvel ’s record domestic weekend moola marathon for Avengers: Endgame will settle at $357.1M . Disney called the weekend at $350M, but when you’re dealing with such high numbers and records, you don’t want to walk any money back on Monday. The rest of the town knew it was north of $354M on Sunday morning. Today we hear that Endgame is poised to make $33M-$35M which is awesome and easily the third best Monday of all-time, behind Black Panther ‘s all-time Presidents Day haul of $40.15M and the first Monday after Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($40.1M). Fandango reported earlier this morning that the crazy presales haven’t stopped . Endgame ‘s second weekend is poised to be a record, beating Force Awakens ($149.2M); we’re hearing $180M-$200M at this point in time, which is between -45% and -50%.
