Watch: MSNBC’s Hayes Compares Pro-Gun Republicans to Osama Bin Laden

MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes said Tuesday on his show “All In” that Republicans like Donald Trump Jr., Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) and Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who have posed with guns behind them, were akin to the terrorist Osama bin Laden. Hayes said, “It’s been unclear for some time exactly what Donald Trump does, but like his father, he does love to make content. This weekend he posted a video of himself ranting about teachers’ unions while posing with a wall full of guns. The whole thing had a here are my thoughts from my bunker vibe.” He continued, “As weird as this image is, it’s kind of becoming a trend on the right. Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, owner of Shooter’s Grill in Rifle, Colorado, where guns are welcome and seemingly encouraged on the premises, has built her political identity around guns. Boebert vowed to carry a Glock around D.C. and on Capitol Hill and released a video to make sure we all knew it. Biden to speak with Saudi king ahead of Khashoggi report: report

President Biden is set to speak with Saudi Arabia’s King Salman ahead of the release of an intelligence report likely linking the king’s son to the murder of U.S.-based Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Axios reports . The reported call Wednesday would be the first between the two leaders since Biden took office last month, with the White House earlier saying the new administration is looking to “recalibrate” the United States's relationship with Saudi Arabia. The White House told The Hill on Wednesday that it did not have anything to share on a possible call between the president and the Saudi king. ADVERTISEMENT While Biden has publicly stated a U.S. commitment to Saudi Arabia and its defensive needs in the region, the affirmations came alongside the president’s announcement earlier this month that he would end U.S. support for the Saudi-led offensive in Yemen’s civil war. The report on the murder of Khashoggi is likely to come up in the call, as the president has … [Read more...] about Biden to speak with Saudi king ahead of Khashoggi report: report

Mainland opposes attempts seeking “Taiwan independence”: spokesperson

Video Player Close A citizen runs in front of the Taipei 101 skyscraper in Taipei, southeast China's Taiwan, on Oct. 1, 2019. (Xinhua/Chen Bin) BEIJING, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese mainland spokesperson on Wednesday voiced resolute opposition to any attempt seeking "Taiwan independence," including making it convenient for the separatist forces, through the so-called "constitutional amendments." Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the comments while responding to a question regarding the island legislative body's plan to initiate the so-called "constitutional amendments." Separatist activities seeking "Taiwan independence" severely undermine the peaceful development of cross-Strait relations and pose threats to peace and stability across the Strait, said Ma. Seriously harming the common interests of the compatriots on both sides of the Strait and the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation, such activities will … [Read more...] about Mainland opposes attempts seeking “Taiwan independence”: spokesperson

RISHI Sunak is preparing to extend the stamp duty holiday by three months until the end of June. The Chancellor is set to delay the cut off point for buyers to save thousands on purchasing homes with the move. The Treasury announced last year that it would temporarily raise the stamp duty threshold from £125,000 to £500,000 for property sales in England and Northern Ireland. But many people have been left scrambling to complete their transactions before the deadline of March 31, worried that if they do not, they could be left with a £15,000 tax bill. The deadline will now likely roll on until the summer. The Times reported that Mr Sunak - who has been urged not to end the stamp duty holiday - will use his Budget next week to move the deadline to the end of June. Extending the stamp duty holiday could cost the Treasury around £1 billion, according to The Times. It will go alongside moves to extend furlough and other support measures such as the VAT cut … [Read more...] about Stamp duty holiday to be extended to the end of June saving movers up to £15k in tax in £1bn budget giveaway
