The Hairy Bikers to return to their Northern homeplaces for brand-new BBC series

The Hairy Bikers will return to the UK for their next road trip, describing their new series as “a love letter to the North”. Northerners Si King and Dave Myers, who have been globe-trotting for years, went back to their roots for the eight-part BBC show they filmed last summer. The “joyous” food adventure takes them through regions they grew up in as they explore ­Lancashire, Cumbria, Yorkshire, the Peak District in Derbyshire, Northumberland and Newcastle. Dave, 63, who is from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, said: “It has been nearly a decade since we went on the road in Britain. “We had already decided to film in the UK before Covid stopped foreign travel. Cheap UK holidays in April & May – now that staycations can start in the spring

SELF-CONTAINED holiday lets can be booked for those staying with their own household from April 12. Interest is expected to surge in self-contained breaks following the announcement, with pent up demand from millions of Brits who've been banned from all travel since the beginning of the year. From April 12 people from the same household will be able to book self-contained holiday lets such as holiday homes. From May 17, hotels are allowed to reopen and holiday homes can be let to groups of up to six people from different households or groups from two households with no cap on size. From June 21, holiday homes can be let to groups of all sizes. Trips have been banned in all parts of the country since January 4, when the country went into a third national lockdown. Travelodge’s new sale has family rooms from £6.25pp for summer 2021

Travelodge is celebrating the lockdown roadmap news with a huge sale - and it includes family rooms from £6.25pp. The sale comes as Boris Johnson has revealed the lockdown roadmap for easing restrictions in England, with hotels hoped to reopen from May 17. To celebrate, Travelodge has released over one MILLION rooms for £25 or less for stays from May 17 . For a family-of-four sharing a family room, that works out at £6.25pp. (A family room caters for two adults and two children and features individual beds for the children.) You can already book the deals on travelodge.co.uk although it's worth noting that they are subject to availability.
