PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) — A Philadelphia man has been charged with robbing postal service workers and kidnapping after police say he forced a postal worker into a mail truck and made her drive him around at gunpoint before he fled with several packages. James Chandler, 54, was ordered to be detained until trial during a federal court appearance on Friday. A phone message left with attorneys at the Defender Association of Philadelphia was not returned. The indictment alleges that Chandler robbed two uniformed postal workers in separate incidents on Jan. 11 and Feb. 4. During both incidents, he used a replica handgun to force the employees into their postal trucks and stole packages. Man United and Tottenham enjoy big away wins
LONDON: Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur built hefty leads with emphatic away wins in their Europa League last 32 first-leg matches but AC Milan were held to a 2-2 draw at Red Star Belgrade as the competition resumed on Thursday. United crushed Real Sociedad 4-0 in a game played in Turin because of COVID-19 restrictions between the UK and Spain with Bruno Fernandes again proving pivotal for his side with a brace. The Portuguese midfielder opened the scoring after 27 minutes with his 20th goal of the season and curled in his second after 57 minutes before Marcus Rashford and Daniel James completed the rout. "We deserved to win but maybe not by four goals. On a night like this when we find spaces we can be a dangerous team," United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said. Tottenham's away leg against Austrian side Wolfsberg was also switched to a different country with their 4-1 victory staged in the Puskas Arena in Budapest. Man City earns 18th straight win, Spurs lose again in EPL
Exactly three months ago, Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham was outwitting Manchester City to go top of the Premier League and leave Pep Guardiola doubting the direction he was taking his slumping midtable team. On Sunday, Mourinho was downplaying talk of a crisis at Tottenham while virtually ruling out its chances of finishing in the top four, and Guardiola was celebrating an 18th straight win in all competitions as City took a major step toward another league title. Things are changing fast in the lives of two of football’s most storied managers, whose teams are going in opposite directions this season. City beat Arsenal 1-0 thanks to Raheem Sterling’s second-minute header to preserve its 10-point lead over Manchester United and Leicester, which both also won Sunday. City’s last defeat in any competition? That 2-0 loss at Tottenham, 26 games ago. “The run has been incredible,” Guardiola said. “I could not expect it.” That victory back in November is looking like the high point of a … [Read more...] about Man City earns 18th straight win, Spurs lose again in EPL
