Elmer J. Fudd will have to find another way to bag that wascally wabbit, Bugs Bunny , during hunting season. Because in the updated Looney Tunes cartoons streaming on HBO Max , he won’t be allowed to have a rifle, according to a report. In the new versions of the classic cartoons, Fudd will still be hunting, but will use a scythe. That’s a modification in response to US gun violence, according to a report . Pepe Le Pew , the cartoon French skunk whose amorous attentions have chased generations of females, has been targeted by the New York Times . Columnist Charles M. Blow claims in a tweet today that the Looney Tunes character “added to rape culture.” “RW blogs are mad bc I said Pepe Le Pew added to rape culture. Let’s see. 1. He grabs/kisses a girl/stranger, repeatedly, w/o consent and against her will. 2. She struggles mightily to get away from him, but he won’t release her 3. He locks a door to prevent her from escaping.” It’s true … Penelope Pussycat was often in Pepe’s clutches. Looney Tunes has previously stopped featuring rifles in its updated portrayals of Elmer Fudd. Alamy Elmer Fudd is losing one of his signature items for the rebooted 'Looney Tunes' on HBO Max -- the guy's going gun-less moving forward ... but has other lethal weapons at his disposal. The news was confirmed this weekend as people noticed the new animated series doesn't feature any firearms -- with one of the EPs telling the NYT, "We're not doing guns." Obviously, Elmer Fudd -- a hunter -- uses a rifle/shotgun in the OG cartoon show. Ditto for  Yosemite Sam -- he uses pistols -- who will also be without his usual weaponry from now on. Funny enough, Elmer and Sam still get to use incredibly dangerous artillery in their never-ending pursuit of Bugs Bunny ... Elmer gets a scythe, and Sam is reportedly going with a grass hook. I was born in Anderson, Indiana in November 1969 and I was adopted when I was three months old. I grew up in Elwood, Indiana and I had a good life, I didn't actually know that I was adopted until I was around eight or nine years old and even when I found out, it didn't bother me. I just assumed there was a good reason why I was adopted and I was OK with that. I have been married twice, I raised three children and we have had a good life. I have sometimes wondered what caused my biological mother to feel that she needed to put me up for adoption, but at the same time, I'm very thankful that it happened. I believe there is a reason for everything, and in giving me up for adoption, she certainly gave me a better life. In 2018 I saw in the news that a law had passed in Indiana allowing people adopted before January 1, 1993 to access their adoption records. This week, Lola's new look was unveiled in a sneak peek at Space Jam 2 , which teams LeBron James with the most popular Looney Tunes characters. On social media, many fans had observed that the cartoon bunny now has an appearance that's much more family-friendly than the version featured in the original Space Jam . In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly , Malcolm D. Lee opened up on why these changes to Lola Bunny were necessary.
