San Francisco, Cyber security researchers have discovered that over 6,700 servers of enterprise software major VMware are currently exposed online, are connected to the internet and vulnerable to new bugs by hackers. The exposed servers can let hackers slip malware into unpatched devices and take over companies' entire networks, reports ZDNet . "We've detected mass scanning activity targeting vulnerable VMware vCenter servers," threat intelligence firm Bad Packets said in a tweet late on Wednesday.. More than 6,700 VMware vCenter servers are currently exposed online and vulnerable to a new attack that can allow hackers to take over unpatched devices and effectively take over companies' entire networks. Scans for VMware vCenter devices are currently underway, according to threat intelligence firm Bad Packets. The scans have started earlier today after a Chinese security researcher published proof-of-concept code on their blog for a vulnerability tracked as CVE-2021-21972. This vulnerability impacts vSphere Client (HTML5), a plugin of VMware vCenter, a type of server usually deployed inside large enterprise networks as a centralized management utility through which IT personnel manage VMware products installed on local workstations. This challenge can be completed in three different spots, but you only need to do it once and you'd be wise to go somewhere that also houses a few other challenges. Here's how to complete it quickly. You can complete this challenge at three locations: Stealthy Stronghold, Colossal Coliseum, or Hunter's Haven. We strongly recommend choosing Hunter's Haven , as you'll be in the same area for a few other challenges this week. Fly down to Hunter's Haven at the start of your match and head for a building on the very western edge.
